The Election Commission of India on Friday announced that West Bengal will witness eight-phased Assembly polls on 294 seats beginning from March 27. The votes will be counted on May 2. In the 2016 West Bengal Assembly elections, Congress had managed to win 44 seats while the Left Front bagged 33 seats out of 294 seats.
